Don Klosterman
Age: 70pro football executive who helped build the American Football League into a rival of the NFL in the 1960s and 70s; credited with outbidding the NFL for players like Lance Alworth, Jack Kemp (Chargers), Bobby Bell and Buck Buchanan (Chiefs); won Super Bowl as GM with Colts in 1970; was an executive with the Oilers and L.A. Rams; signed BYU quarterback Steve Young to the L.A. Express of the USFL in 1984; joined with Bill Walsh in an unsuccessful bid to bring football back to Los Angeles in 1995; college football's leading passer in 1951 and drafted by the Browns; quarterbacked the CFL's Calgary Stampeders in 1950s. He died of a heart attack.
