Age: 70a founder of the Senior PGA Tour and prolific Ryder Cup player; was 9-1 as a member of the U.S. Ryder Cup teams in 1967 and 1971; posted a 5-0 record with teammate Arnold Palmer in Cup play; won seven times on the PGA tour; his last victory was over Jack Nicklaus in a sudden-death playoff at the 1971 Atlanta Classic; later taught the sport to players such as LPGA great JoAnne Carner, and his wife, Judy, who is a former player and president of the LPGA; after a long illness
