Age: 81former Negro Leagues and major league outfielder in the 1940s and 50s; spent five seasons with the Cincinnati Reds, mostly as a pinch hitter and platoon player; joined the Negro Leagues in 1946 and played for the Homestead Grays and Kansas City Monarchs; at age 40 he hit 16 home runs in 199 at-bats, one every 11.9 plate appearances; played 11 seasons with the Santurce (Puerto Rico) Crabs and in 1992 was elected to the Puerto Rican Baseball Hall of Fame; cause of death not given
