Grammy Award-winning singer and song-writer known for his falsetto voice and as a premier song-writer with more than 4,000 songs to his credit. He formed the band the Miracles in 1955, and the band recorded the hits “Shop Around” (1960), “I Second That Emotion” (1967) and “Tracks of My Tears” (1967). He also served as president of Motown Records. In 2006 he was a Kennedy Center honoree.
