Sanford Meisner

Meisner began his career in the idealistic Group Theater of the 1930s and started to teach acting in 1935 at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York. Though he occasionally acted and directed, his chief legacy is his instruction of students such as Diane Keaton, Peter Falk, Gregory Peck, Grace Kelly, Tony Randall, and David Mamet.
