Robert Loggia

actor
Born: 1/3/1930

Saying of himself, “I'm a character actor in that I play many different roles, and I'm virtually unrecognizable from one role to another, so I never wear out my welcome,” Robert Loggia has had a prolific life in show business. Gravelly voiced and with a rugged face, Loggia rarely lands the leading man roles that propel an actor to stardom, but he has assembled an impressive body of work, including roles in the motion pictures Smilla's Sense of Snow (1997), An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), Wide Awake (1997), Big (1988), Independence Day (1996), Return to Me (2000) and All Over Again (2000). He has appeared in more than 20 television movies or mini-series, including Pandora's Clock (1996) and the critically acclaimed HBO movie Afterburn (1992). In addition, he has served as a director on numerous television series, including Magnum, P.I., (1980), Quincy, and Hart to Hart.
