Already a veteran of television and the stage, Redgrave made her first film appearance in Tom Jones (1963) and received an Oscar nomination for her role in Georgy Girl (1966). She delivered strong performances in The Happy Hooker (1975), Getting It Right (1989). Other appearances include Gods and Monsters (1998), Deeply (2000), Venus and Mars (2001), and My Kingdom (2001). She is in the last Merchant-Ivory collaboration The White Countess (2005). She and her older sister, Vanessa Redgrave, costarred in the TV production of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane? (1991). Her stage successes include the 1993 one-woman Broadway production Shakespeare for My Father. She is the daughter of Sir Michael Redgrave.
