Lead singer and driving force behind the band Queen, Mercury died in 1991 of AIDS. He formed Queen in 1970 with Brian May and Roger Taylor, with John Deacon joining the band in early 1971. Their first big break was the release of Sheer Heart Attack in 1974. They remained a band to be reckoned with throughout the '70s and '80s, with hits such as “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “We Are the Champions”, “We Will Rock You”, “Bicycle Race”, and “Another One Bites the Dust”.
