Anthony Michael Hall first won accolades in National Lampoon's Vacation (1983), but is more often remembered as the “geek” who pursued Molly Ringwald in Sixteen Candles (1984). Hall appeared in several other teen films, including The Breakfast Club and Weird Science (both 1985), and, as a teen, became a regular on Saturday Night Live during its 1986–87 season. He has since featured in various films, including a memorable turn as a bulky thug in Edward Scissorhands (1990). Lately he has dedicated himself to singing and writing songs for his rock band, Hall of Mirrors but took on the role of Microsoft's Bill Gates in the TV movie, The Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999).
