The Question:
What percentage of Americans are home-schooled?
The Answer:
According to the National Center for Education Statistics, as of 2007, 1.5 million or 2.9% of U.S. children were homeschooled. The three top reasons for homeschooling were due to concern about the school environment; this included concerns about safety, drugs, and negative peer pressure; to provide religious or moral instruction, and dissatisfaction with the academic instruction available at other schools.
