Huge Insurance Losses in California Mudslide
On April 2, it was announced that the disastrous mudslides that hit California in January caused over $421 million in insurance losses. This number is expected to rise. (Reuters)

One Dead in Florida Lightning Strike
On April 7, a lightning strike in White Springs, Florida killed one person and injured another four. The strike hit the trailer the group was in to avoid the rain. (CNN)

Earthquake Hits Italy
On April 10, a 4.7 magnitude earthquake hit Italy. Minor damages have been reported, but no deaths or injuries. (Reuters)
Taj Mahal Minarets Damaged
On April 12, after a windstorm in India, two minarets outside the Taj Mahal were damaged. The other four minarets remain in tact. (BBC)

Power Outage in Puerto Rico
On April 12, a fallen tree in Puerto Rico caused 870,000 people to lose power. Power was restored to 779,000 customers by the end of the evening. (CNN)
Oklahoma Wildfires
On April 14, at least one person died from the wildfires in Oklahoma. Many towns are now being forced to evacuate as firefighters attempt to control the fire. (CNN)

Storms Hit US Midwest
On April 15, the US Midwest received a record amount of snowfall and low temperatures. Nearly 700,000 people lost power across a few states. The storm is now headed towards New England. (Reuters)
Floods in Tanzania
On April 16, heavy rains flooded Tanzania’s capital, killing 9 people. (Reuters)
Earthquake in Indonesia
On April 19, a 4.4 magnitude earthquake hit Indonesia, causing 2,000 people to flee their homes. The quake killed 2 people and injured another 20. (Reuters)
Earthquake in Iran
On April 19, a 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit Iran. No injuries or damages have been reported. (Reuters)
Flash Flood in Israel
On April 26, nine teenagers died and one is still missing after a flash flood in Israel. Search and rescue units continue to search the area. (Reuters)
Oklahoma Wildfires Continue
On April 30, the Oklahoma wildfires continued to blaze, killing hundreds of cattle and destroying over 300,000 acres. (Reuters)
Landslides in Kenya
On April 30, 200,000 people in Kenya were forced to evacuate their homes after heavy rains led to landslides. At least 100 people have been reported as dead. (Reuters)
