Delta Airlines Grounded; Thousands Stranded

On August 8, 2016, Delta airline experiences a 6-hour system shutdown originating from its hometown of Atlanta, Georgia. Georgia Power claims there was an equipment failure overnight that causes the power outage. Tens of thousands of people experience delays and cancellations. Mondays are the busiest days for airlines because it is the first day of the work week. Three days later, the airline is still struggling with getting back on schedule, with hundreds of flights cancelled.
