Hulce burst into the American fim scene in 1978 with roles in two films, September 30, 1955 and the more famous (or infamous) Animal House, but he is best known for his Oscar-nominated performance playing the title role of the troubled child prodigy Mozart in Amadeus (1984). He has since appeared in Ron Howard's Parenthood (1990) and Kenneth Branagh's Frankenstein (1994), as well as providing the voice of Quasimodo for the Disney hit, The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996). His television credits include Murder in Mississippi (1990) and an Emmy Award-winning performance in The Heidi Chronicles (1995).
