Denise Levertov

Levertov published more than 30 books, including her critically acclaimed poetry, translations, and essays. Her poems range in content from emotionally charged observations of nature, to topics of political concern, to confessional explorations of her own life experience. Levertov was an outspoken critic of the Vietnam War and actively protested against it. Her volumes of poetry include The Double Image (1946), The Jacob's Ladder (1961), The Freeing of the Dust (1975), and Collected Poems, 1960–1970 (1983).
