David Westerfield, 2002 News

California engineer, was convicted in August of kidnapping and murdering his neighbor, 7-year-old Danielle van Dam. The child was abducted from her bedroom in February while her father was sleeping and her mother was out. In September the jury recommended that Westerfield receive the death penalty.
