ever-incarcerated Whitewater figure, was charged with embezzlement and tax fraud in a case unrelated to the Arkansas land deal. The latest charges were brought by conductor Zubin Mehta and his wife, for whom McDougal was bookkeeper and personal assistant from 1989 to 1992. After serving 18 months in prison for refusing to answer questions about President and Mrs. Clinton before the Whitewater grand jury, McDougal immediately began a 90-day detention at home for fraud in the Whitewater dealings. President Clinton pardoned Susan McDougal shortly before he left office in 2001.
