Russ Meyer
Age: 74"Mad Monk" pitched 13 seasons in the majors and was a member of the Philadelphia Phillies "Whiz Kids" in the 1950s; pitched in three World Series—with the Phillies in 1949 and the Dodgers in 1953 and 1955; his career record was 94-73 with a 3.99 ERA, and he was a member of the Cubs, Red Sox and Athletics before retiring in 1959; spent 12 years coaching in the Yankees' organization, including a stint as Buck Showalter's bench coach in 1992; of congestive heart failure
