1. Known as General Assembly in Ark., Colo., Conn., Del., Ga., Ill., Iowa, Ind., Ky., Md., Mo., N.C., Ohio, Pa., R.I., S.C., Tenn., Vt., Va.; Legislative Assembly in N.D., Ore.; General Court in Mass., N.H.; Legislature in other states. Meets biennially in Ark., Ky., Mont., Nev., N.D., Ore., Texas. Wyoming Legislature has regular general session on odd-numbered years and a budget session on even-numbered years. Arkansas General Assembly meets every other year for 60 days in odd numbered years. Ohio General Assembly meets when deemed necessary. Legislative bodies meet annually in other states.
2. Known as Court of Appeals in Md., N.Y.; Supreme Court of Virginia in Va.; Supreme Judicial Court in Maine, Mass.; Supreme Court in other states.
3. Upper house: Senate in all states except Neb., which has a single-house legislative body, “the Legislature.”
