It's no big secret that D3 serves not as a form of entertainment but as a marketing vehicle for Disney's hockey franchise, the Mighty Ducks. In the third installment, coach Gordon Bombay (Estevez) has left the team and has been replaced by Orion (Nordling), who relentlessly pounds the importance of defense into the heads of his players. Earning full scholarships to Eden Hall Academy for their win in the Junior Goodwill Games, the freshman Ducks face foes in the school's varsity team and the school's board of trustees, who would like to see the young players booted from the school. Lots of obstacles tackled and adversity battled before the predictable game between the frosh and the varsity players.
