Versatile actress whose career has ranged from thoughtful roles in movies such as Thelma & Louise (1991) and A League of Their Own (1992) to offbeat performances in sendups such as Beetlejuice (1988) and Earth Girls Are Easy (1989), which co-starred her then-husband Jeff Goldblum. Davis won a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for her part in The Accidental Tourist (1988). Davis played Mrs. Eleanor Little in Stuart Little (1999) and Stuart Little 2 (2002). She starred in her own television sitcom The Geena Davis Show (2000) and then went on to lead the United States as the Commander in Chief (2005–). She was also married to director Renny Harlin. She also tried out for the 2000 United States Olympic archery team.
